The little bunny lay under the chair
Collecting, perfecting and shaping his hair
The gray ball resting soundly on the floor
Feared for his life as people came through the door.
No one knew how fast he grew
Or that his eyes had a hint of blue
The bunny was content and free
Lost in his own reality
He thought he finally found his home
A place where he could be alone
Until the day he was swept away
For he was made of dust and in the way.

Lonely Hallway
Sitting in a long lonely hallway
My thoughts become more clear
Memories race through my mind
Some good, some not so dear.
I try to keep the mood up beat
Thoughts of my failures and insecurities
I can only hear my self breath
Memories of my triumphs and catastrophes
When alone its too quiet
Allowing my mind to roam
Reminding me of my faults
Heart ache and hurt I began to moan
Why don't these events stay in the past
And allow me to move on
Why do they keep resurfacing
Changing the beat to my new song
I want to loose my hateful past
Forget the mistakes I've done
But they have made me who I am
Different from where I begun.
These thoughts are reminders of where I've been
And what I am fighting for
I only wish these haunting thoughts
Would end and be never more.

Natural Beauty
The sweet smell floated from the petals
Engulfing the room in a beautiful fragrance
Placing the inhabitants in a comatose trance.
The beauty of the plant no one can deny
Greens brighter than ever, yellow shining as the sun
Nestled in its antique pot, which was hand spun
So many are intrigued by its presence
And move in for a closer look to take
Only to be disappointed to find out the plant's fake.

Here For You
A smirk, smile or grin
Its your choice which one you give
But show what's truly with in
Even if it is a frown
Please don't try to pretend
Your face can say it all
Like a window to your soul
Why are to standing tall
Are you good or bad?
Do you really want to fall?
It hurts to see you crying
But I am here to support
Hurts more when you are lying
I will share in your pain
But my desire is not prying
We are connected my friend
When you hurt, I hurt
Connected to the very end
When you laugh, I laugh
Lets not stop this trend
Please tell me my dear
Why do you try to hide?
I want to be all ears
Listen to your heart
Wipe away all your tears.
I'll give you just one task
Please be open and honest
Put away your stupid mask
What can I do for you
All you have to do is ask!

Choices and Freedom
A world without choices
Told what to do and when
Where to be, what to say
I never want to live that way.
I have been given freedom
To choose between right and wrong
Some choices make me stumble and fall
Others help me to stand tall,
I have learned from my mistakes
Better understand where I went wrong
But without the choice to make
Chances I would never take.
Because of my opportunities
There is a world for me to explore
A world of mystery, horror and care
A world full of truth and dares.
I don't have a dictator,
Ruling over my every move,
But I have a God above
Who is pointing out His way with love.
I still have my freedom and choice
His presence doesn't change me flexibility,
But I know He has a plan for me
And on that path my life is at ease.
I know He is with me
That He will carry and cherish me
Whether I stumble or stand tall
As long as I am in His call.
It won't be an easy journey
Bumps and mountains along the way
But I know when I am following Him
I'll find His victory in the end.
Yes I have a Master
One who loves and cares
He has given me freedom
And I dwell forever in His kingdom

Pawn's Place
As the smallest of all the King's men
Pawn questioned his place
So he put on an attitude of pride with a grin
And let his journey begin
Pawn first came to Rook
"Am I one of the most important?
For the front line space I have took,
Go ahead and take a look."
Looking down on Pawn, Rook said,
"You little pea brain of a man,
Your life is as useless as a short piece of thread,
So easy for the Queen to shout, 'Off with his head!'"
Not receiving the answer he expected,
Little Pawn moved on to another in line
The one with the moves most hectic.
This time Sir Knight he did pick.
"My dear knight would you agree,"
Little Pawn began, standing tall
"That there is no one more precious than me,
For you never number even three."
"Poor Pawn, there may be more than two of you around,"
Started Knight in a low voice,
"But when it comes to covering ground,
Your argument is less than sound."
Discouraged but not broken,
Pawn focused his attempts on the wisest around
To Bishop his ideas were taken
Although trying hard to keep from shaking.
With less confidence, poor little Pawn began to say,
"Wise Bishop please tell me I am right
That in this game I am important at play
And in battle without me, we wouldn't last a day."
A creepy look crossed Bishop's face
Making poor little Pawn jump back.
"Mere maggot, don't you know your proper place?
Now watch me work and give me some space."
Two more to talk to, to understand his fate.
First to the mighty Queen
Reminding himself to stand up straight
To her he would present his debate.
He began "Sweet Queen I have a cry,
Please help me solve this problem
And excuse me if I pry,
But am I your most important guy?"
"You silly little Pawn, Why such a thought?"
She began with a smirk,
"Everyone has a position to be fought,
But you are not in the most important spot."
Poor silly little Pawn walked away with his head hung low.
Desperate to hear his reason for life
So to the King he must go,
There his reason for life he would know.
To the King he said on bended knee,
"Almighty King, I have searched across the board,
Inquired from all I could see,
Trying to understand why you would want someone like me."
"Dear Pawn, why so down?
What have you heard to make such a statement?"
The King's radiance shown from his crown,
Helping to lessen poor, little Pawn's frown.
"On the front line, I am one of eight,
An easy sacrifice in war,
Doesn't that seal my fate.
And my short distance moves, I'm sure you hate.
"I only move forward in battle, so I cannot retreat,
That makes me a terrible solider
Especially when near defeat.
Please King help me make this journey complete."
The King stood his ground,
Lifted Pawn's eyes to the sky
"That's exactly why I need you around
And in your spirit, My victory is found.
"Victory is only won by moving forward
Even if it is one step at a time.
And the whole time you are striving toward
A crown waiting for you across the board.
"You are the most important to me you see,"
The King said with love,
"So take and walk in this gift humbly
Because in your battles, you represent Me.
"And next time you question My want for you,
Come directly to me, my child.
For no one knows you like I do,
And my love abounds for you."
Pawn now knew his ultimate place
As a child of a king.
He could now walk in grace
With His King's mercy and glory shining on his face.

Let Go
My thoughts at night
Haunting my tired body
Is a never ending fight
Unable to move on
Lost in my sorrow
The weight on my shoulders is a ton
Letting go sounds so simple
But its more like a battle
Like running through a trapped temple
I want the same comfort
So many say they've found
But slowly dwindles my strength and effort
Put the sin and regret in the past
Embrace the joy from Him
The joy and peace that lasts
Be willing to give into His control
Put away my pride
Allow Him to revive my soul
I fight in pride
Stop this war, He fights for love
Forget my unhealthy stride
Its time to give in
Because I know once I let go
I am the true victor in the end
By His love and grace
Not by my own power or strength
And one day I will see my king face to face.

Privacy Fence
Six feet tall
Keeping her life closed in
Living her lonely routine
Without a neighborly grin
Lost in her own world
Keeping everyone out
Afraid to share with others
What she is really about
Its time to break down that fence
The wall built so strong
Climb over the top
Its been to long
Get out from behind the fence
Nothing wrong with privacy and secrets
But its time to show the real you
Open up before close ones split
Break down the privacy fence
Open the gate
Let others in
Its a step you need to take

Locked Up
What's this all about?
I'm locked in, nowhere to go
No back way out
As we see in the shows
The key is my only way out
My only way to freedom
I heart longs to be free
To finally escape to a kingdom
There is writing on the wall
"In you, you'll find the key"
What does that mean?
is my only plea.
Huddled in the corner
I search myself
My thoughts, my heart, my desires
My memories, my dreams of wealth
I felt a tug at my heart
As if someone trying to get in
A tug so strong
Trying to get my attention
As I closed my eyes
I heard these words,
"Let me in, I'll set you free"
My whole body was stirred
I've been locked up
Scared for my life
Doing things on my own
Trying desperately to survive.
Now you tell me all I need to do
is "let go"
Are you sure this will work?
I really don't know
I'm going to trust
this heart felt tug
Although I feel I'm shivering
Like a salted slug
I'm letting You in
into my heart, body, soul
Letting You take over
my dreams, desires, goals
I open my eyes
I'm still in this room
Nothing outwardly has changed
But I'm only physically doomed
My heart is at peace
I am where I should be
I can stand the locks
Because You are with me
I am locked on this earth
In this body for only so long
It is time to take my stand for You
And stand strong
You have given me the strength
To face my daily battle
Strength to break the locks
And all my trials tackle
I am free
Free spiritually
I am free
Free eternally
I am free
Free from this loneliness
I am free
Free from selfishness
I am free
Free to love You
I am free
Free to follow only You
Free to fly out of these walls on the wings of angels!

Battle Within
My head and my heart are at war
Each struggling for control
I know which one should rule
But the battle pulls at my soul
Separation causes so much stress
What can't they finally agree
Stop this dangerous game and
Do what is over-all best in me
I'm being torn apart
Lost in what I should do
The battle within needs to end
To Him I need to be true

Change
Many of us fear it, wish it didn't have to happen,
try to go around it, or pretend that we are fine without it
But without change, we will continue to relive our mistakes
By going around it, we will miss the lessons from going through it
If we pretend we don't need it, we are only fooling ourselves
Because of our fear, we would never know the blessings afterwards
Its time for us to all change, the world would be a better place
Change our attitudes, actions, desires, language, thoughts
Change our hearts, minds, and souls that lead us to change for our future
Embrace the moments, people and dreams that lead us to change for the better
Learn from the past, don't dwell on the negative
Enjoy the present, strive daily for more
Be excited about the future, Don't fear the change that comes
Change starts today
Change starts from the inside out...from the heart to the head
Don't waste a day in fear...the change in us, changes the future

The Art of Saying No
Such a simple word for so many to say
Why do I struggle so much
There are so many things on my plate
It would be the perfect finishing touch.
I want to help those around me
Whatever the cost
But too many times I find myself
Barely surviving and lost.
I need to use that simple word
So many learn when they are young
Instead of trying to please everyone
It needs to slip off my tongue.
If I could just say that word
Know when to use it best
That simple, little phrase
My heart would find its rest.

Doubt
My doubt over takes me
Questions running through my mind
Doing my best to press on
Leaving the sinful world behind.
But what about the things I've done
The sin I have commit
Am I fully forgiven
My ears can't hardly believe it.
After a life of disobedience
How could you forgive me
You knew I'd live this life of sin
But You still died for me on that tree.
I try to understand Your love,
Your grace and Your mercy
But I don't have Your eyes
To see the good, sinless me you see.
Give me the strength to understand
To fully accept Your unending love
This I know only comes from You
Your most precious gift from above.

RIP
You had my trust and my respect.
I felt I knew you well,
but you proved me wrong that night,
and it hurt like hell.
It is painful to finally say goodbye,
but more importantly now I know
that my impressions of you were wrong
and it is time for me to let go.
Rest in peace my friend,
I am sure I will see you around
Rest in peace my friend,
I am free, my heart is no longer bound.

You Don't Need Me
I want to be needed, In a world of needy people
Looking for the answers to life.
And in my desperation, I finally come to realize
The One I want to need me, doesn't need me at all.
You don't need me
You don't need my selfish actions
You don't need my wavering heart
You don't need my many lies
But You want me, You want me
I'm wanted by my Savior, my perfect example
And the answer to my life.
And through our time together, You've opened up my eyes
To help reassure me, I'm wanted in Your life.
You don't need me
You don't need my hateful thoughts
You don't need my painful words
You don't need my empty promise
But You want me, You want me
But You want me
You want to provide
You want to love
You want to give me everything
Thank You for wanting me.
Thank You for fulfilling my need.
